ABOUT BALI INTERNATIONAL
Bali — a living laboratory
for culture and community
THE ISLAND
Why Bali draws people in
Bali has attracted travellers, artists, and seekers for generations. It is not hard to understand why. The island carries a rare combination: deep spiritual tradition, extraordinary natural beauty, and a culture that expresses itself through art every single day.
Temple offerings laid out at dawn. Gamelan music drifting through the street. Dancers in ceremonial costume. These are not performances — they are the rhythm of daily life. Bali shows us what it looks like when a whole community organises itself around beauty and meaning.
“The arts are not decoration here. They are how Bali thinks, prays, and connects.”
WHAT WE DO
A portal and a gathering place
Bali International is a news and information portal published by Europa Regina and connected to RYB Global Development. We collect and share stories, news, and resources about Bali — its culture, its people, its creative life, and its future.
But we also want to do something more. RYB believes there is a gap in the world. There are almost no permanent spaces where citizens, creatives, and organisations can meet around global development. Not for a conference. Not for a festival. But every day. We want to help fill that gap.
Bali is where we will start building it.
WHAT WE CARE ABOUT
Culture of Peace — not a UN framework
Our focus is not on government targets or institutional programmes. We care about culture — the arts, creativity, community, and the kind of peace that grows between people when they genuinely connect.
UNESCO calls this a Culture of Peace. We think Bali already embodies much of it. Our job is to amplify that, share it, and help build the conditions for more of it.
PILOT SPACES — COMING TO BALI
Two places to test an idea
We plan to open two physical spaces on the island. Think of them as creative development labs — places to test what happens when you bring artists, thinkers, travellers, and local community together under one roof.
Canggu — beach village, west coast
One of Bali’s most vibrant coastal villages. Eco Beach. Yoga studios. Health food shops. Tattoo artists. And once in a while — a full moon rising over the water, bare feet in the sand, and people dancing until the tide comes in. A natural home for creative energy.
Near Bedugul — mountain range, central Bali
Central Bali’s volcanic highlands. Cool air, crater lakes, sacred forest. A quieter counterpoint to the coast — a space for reflection, deeper work, and reconnection with nature. Where ideas breathe differently.
These are pilot spaces. We want to learn what works. Each space will respect its surroundings — local architecture, local community, local wisdom.

HAVE AN IDEA?
This is not just about us
We are building something — but we are not building it alone. If you have ideas about creative development spaces, community building, or international collaboration — in Bali or anywhere else — we genuinely want to hear them.
Share your thoughts on social media. Tag us. Start a conversation. That is exactly the kind of connection we are here to support.

LOOKING FORWARD
An open invitation
Bali International is a small project with a large curiosity. We are finding our shape. Follow us, contribute, and help us figure out what spaces for culture and peace can look like — starting here, on this island, with the people already here.
